On a gorgeous summer’s day, there’s nowhere in the world quite like the west coast of Scotland and the sun certainly shone on Emma and Gordon’s beautiful wedding on the Clyde Coast last summer.
Gordon and Emma love the island of Colonsay, which they had incorporated throughout their wedding. Gordon’s wedding ring was designed with the outline of the island. Each reception table represented a different beach and the table names were in bowls of the island’s golden machair sand (from the named beach!).
It was personal touches from both families that really made this such a special celebration and a joy for us to photograph. Emma and Gordon were married by a long-term friend of Gordon’s parents, Rev. Mark Hargreaves of St. Peter, Notting Hill. Their reception followed at Gordon’s family home overlooking the Firth of Clyde. Emma’s sister and bridesmaid, Beth, baked the delicious cakes. She also made hand-painted signs and lovingly added sweat pea, the bride’s favourite flower, to the table arrangements just before the guests were seated for the wedding breakfast. Gordon’s father Leslie wowed their guests with a firework finale over the water.
